SR. MARINE SURVEYOR

Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Marine Surveyor to work in offshore industry – on board marine vessels including dynamic positioning and offshore support vessels.

Main Responsibilities

•    Perform interim, annual or special surveys for offshore vessels
•    Inspect a vessel’s hull, structure, marine engines, electrical system, and other electronics, check for water intrusion, proper functioning of the heat and air-conditioning etc.
•    Ensure that machinery and equipment are functioning as required.
•    Perform is the investigation of maritime accidents.

Qualifications

•    A minimum of 15 years of experience in off shore/Oil and Gas operations on board Marine vessels including dynamic positioning and offshore support vessels.
•    Considerable knowledge of seaport rules, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to vessel movements, port and cargo operation activities, and offshore operations with a good working knowledge of regulations for the Offshore Industry.
•    Leadership, conflict management and motivational skills. Good analytical skills related to problem solving.
•    Marine Chief Engineer Class A-III/2 certificate of competency as recognized by IMO with Chief Engineer experience.
•    Sound working knowledge of Maritime Law, Marine Regulations, Classification society requirement and procedures, Maritime Business and Marine Chartering.
•    A background in Marine Surveying, a familiarization in Marine Quality Assessment Auditing, Port State Control requirements, OVID requirements and Accident Investigation procedures.
•    Considerable knowledge of the requirements of the International Maritime Organization, e.g. SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ILO, STCW, etc. and preferably some marine surveying experience.
